Ring alternatives worth considering
People look for Ring alternatives for one reason above all others: the plan. Ring hardware is competent and widely supported, and the recorded history that makes a doorbell useful sits behind Ring's paid plan.

Why people replace Ring
The replacements that actually work are the ones that keep footage locally. A doorbell with a base station or a card gives you the thing Ring charges for, permanently, and keeps working if you stop paying attention to it.
What you give up is real and worth naming. Ring's app is more polished than anything here, the integration with Alexa is tighter, and the company will still exist in a decade. Several alternatives on this list come from brands with far shorter track records.
Ring has renamed its plans more than once, so check the current tier names and prices on Ring's own site before you run the five-year comparison.
