BOIFUN: what the brand is good at
BOIFUN appears here for one product and one reason: a doorbell that keeps its footage for about the price of one month of a competitor's plan.
The specification is modest and honestly stated. 2K, f/2.5, 166 degrees, 940 nm invisible infrared, and 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi only, which the listing says plainly rather than burying.
Expect budget-brand support and a basic app. What you are buying is the absence of a subscription at the bottom of the market, and on that narrow basis it does the job.
Practical notes. The 2.4 GHz-only Wi-Fi is stated in the listing and is the single most common reason budget doorbells get returned. If your router presents both bands under one network name, split them temporarily, complete setup, then recombine. That one step resolves most of the one-star reviews in this category.
Mounting height matters more than specification on a doorbell. At standard height the camera frames chests rather than faces, and a wedge bracket costing a few dollars fixes it. Check the geometry if your door sits back in a porch, because 166 degrees still misses someone standing hard to one side of a deep recess.
Expect a basic app and budget-brand support. What you are buying is the absence of a subscription at the very bottom of the market.
