REOLINK: what the brand is good at

REOLINK sits at the overlap between consumer cameras and proper CCTV, and is one of the few makers selling both a solar battery camera and an eight-channel PoE recorder that speak the same app.

The house style is local storage first and subscriptions as an afterthought, which is why REOLINK turns up across this site. The recorder systems in particular are the cheapest credible way into continuous 4K recording with no ongoing cost.

The weakness is listing hygiene. The Argus 4 Pro shares a 3.8 star rating across several sibling listings covering different configurations, so the number is a family score rather than a verdict on one camera. Read recent reviews for the specific variant.

Practical notes. REOLINK's model naming is dense but logical once you see it: RLK is a kit, the first number is channels, the second is camera count, B is bullet and D is dome. Argus is the battery and solar line. If a listing does not carry one of those prefixes, check carefully what is actually in the box.

The PoE systems want a little networking confidence. Nothing exotic, but you will meet terms like NVR, PoE budget and sub-stream, and the difference between a camera plugged into the recorder and a camera on your home network is worth understanding before you buy rather than during the install.
