What this feature really means
A battery camera sleeps, wakes when a sensor fires, connects and records. That chain costs one to four seconds, which means the beginning of every event is already gone, and it means nothing is recorded at all if the sensor never fires.
For most households that is an acceptable trade for not running cable. For anyone who needs to answer what happened between two specific times, it is not, and no battery camera at any price solves it.
Battery life is really a trigger count. The way to get near the headline number is activity zones, set on the first day, excluding the road and the hedge. The difference between a camera that lasts four months and one that lasts three weeks is almost never the battery.
